Business ISP Information

The Colville area offers a variety of Internet Service Providers that are able to support the needs of your business. The type of services available depend on the location of your business. While phone-line based dialup services can be obtained at nearly any location, the higher speed/bandwidth providers are only available within a certain distance of town. The following options are grouped by their availability:

In Colville

  • Wired (Phone Line) Qwest (http://www.qwest.com) DSL (Digital Subscriber Line)
Qwest DSL is available to nearly all parts of town. It may require certain standards of phone lines to transmit the signal. For most business locations, this service is easily available. For Internet services, you can use Qwest's native services, or the local ones of Internet Express.
  • Wireless Internet Express (http://www.plix.com)Internet Express transmits an Internet connection via a microwave tower and an receiving dish at your business location. To receive, you must have a clear line of sight with an Internet Express tower.
Office Net (http://www.theofficenet.com)Delivers in the same way as Internet Express.

Within a 10-mile radius of Colvile

Both Internet Express and Office Net have towers strategically placed in the areas surrounding Colville. Again, to receive, you must have a clear line of sight between your location and a radio tower. (No mountains/trees/buildings in the way)

With a clear view of the southern sky

If you cannot get service from the previously mentioned providers, but still want a broadband connection, one of the following satellite providers may be serviceable. To receive these services, you typically need a clear line of sight with the southern sky. (Again, no blocking by trees/mountains/buildings) See each providers website for more information regarding connection speeds and features.
  • Wild Blue (http://www.wildblue.com) (Local Installers: Seymour Channels, Radio Shack)
  • DirecWay (http://www.direcway.com) (i.e. DirecTV)
  • StarBand (http://www.starband.com)

Every where you can get a phone line

Although not the best option for business, if you can get a phone line, then you can get a modem-based Internet connection. All local and international providers should be able to provide access to you.
