Sept. 7 to 12, 2010

Mission of the Colville Chamber of Commerce: Provide leadership to stimulate, promote and support economic vitality, tourism,

communication, education and community pride in the greater  Colville area.

Celebrating 100 years of service to Colville in 2010

Ladies and Gentlemen:

We hope everyone had a fun time at Northport Labor Days and the Ferry County Fair.   I went to The Affair on Main Street in Metaline Falls and rode the Ione Lions Club Train.  It was really beautiful and will be more so on the four weekends in October when the leaves are turning.  The train fills up on some weekends, so go online to www.lionstrainraides.com and get your tickets early.  The open air cars are cooler but you can see much better.

Upcoming Chamber Tuesday Speakers include:

All Chamber and community members are welcome to join us on Tuesdays at noon at  Park Place (now Del Sol) Restaurant Come and network and find out what is going on in your community.  If you are interested in providing a presentation please contact the Chamber office at 509-684-5973

Sept. 14:  Linda Hall, NEW Animal Protection Society

Sept. 21:  Tricia Lyman & Mike Lyman, Friends of the Little Pend Oreille National Wildlife Refuge

Sept. 28:  Chris Cargill, WA Policy Center on the WA Initiatives on the Ballot in November

Upcoming Chamber Events and Business Training:

Thank you to the Chamber members who have paid their 2010/2011 dues.  If you haven't yet renewed, please remember to do so soon.  Your support allows the Chamber office to remain open to provide vital services to the community, business, visitors, and newcomers.

The Stevens County Recreation and Community Guide is now being assembled.  The Chamber will be contacting many of our businesses to place ads.  The Chamber will be using this publication for the next two years whenever we receive a request for Tourism or Relocation.  The Guides will also be placed in many Visitor Information Centers throughout the state and region.  Please contact Tricia at the office to participate.

The Chamber is looking for sponsors for the Christmas Tree Extravaganza.  This event is a primary fundraiser for the Chamber’s events and activities like flower baskets, banners, seasonal decorations, Kiddie Parade, Winterfest and more.   To sponsor, you acquire and decorate an artificial tree and contact others to put gifts under the tree.  We try to find sponsors now, so there is plenty of time to locate “presents” from area businesses.  The trees need to be ready by Nov. 19. Then for three weeks the trees are displayed at Saundra’s Furniture Window and folks buy raffle tickets to win each tree.  Your company or non-profit’s name will be prominently displayed in the window and on all the promotional media for the event.  The winners of the trees will be drawn at the Chamber Gala Dinner Dance on Dec. 11, 2010.   If you have any questions, please call the Chamber at 684-5973.  It’s a great way to support your community and get your name out there.
